Exchanges demographic data with Microsoft Outlook Contacts
You can import and export patient data between PMA
and the Contact feature in Microsoft Outlook. PMA
can import patient demographic data from Outlook in either the vCard format
(.ics) or the text format (.txt).
To send Contact information (patient demographics) from Outlook to
PMA, select the entry in Outlook's Contact
screen, click on File, Save As and select either Text Only or vCard in the Save
as type.
Note that the vCard format is limited to one contact entry whereas the Text Only format can contain multiple entries.
In the Save In field locate or create the folder C:\FmOutlook and click on Save. In PMA, press a key on the Main Menu to import the data. The sex of the contact is passed to PMA in Outlook's Profession field with the word SEX: followed by Male or Female.
To send Contact information from PMA to Outlook, you select the Export to MS Outlook in the Copy Entry feature on the Print screen. You can select one or many client demographic entries to be sent to Outlook in the C:\ToOutlook folder, each entry in their own vCard file which Outlook accepts.
