Microsoft Solomon
![]()
The PMA interfaces with Microsoft Solomon
software which has been enhanced by Automated
Options of Spokane, WA.
The primary goal of this interface is to eliminate manual data entry into
PMA. The data will be manually entered into the
Solomon software and automatically imported into PMA
in an ASCII data file. Note that any data that Solomon does not send to
PMA will have to be manually entered into
PMA.
The interface consists of a formatted ASCII data file that the PMA user can
retrieve, any time at their convenience, from the Solomon software, and also can
send data to that software from PMA.
Both the import and export data file format will be identical.
We expect that the data going to the Solomon software from
PMA will be a one time event, to update their data with the
existing database in PMA. After that we
expect that the data will only be coming from the Solomon software to
PMA.
The format will consist of segments (usually called records in the pre-HIPAA
days). Each segment will provide complete information for the subject and will
be terminated with a tilde (~) instead of a carriage return/line feed. The data
elements within the segment will be delimited with an asterisk (*) except the
last element which is delimited by the tilde. Blank data elements indicate no
data for that element.
